The Evolution of Thought: My Journey of Introspection
Have you ever self reflected on the evolution of your thought process throughout different stages of your life? Say, for instance, your response to a question as simple as “What do you like?” would have likely changed over the years, I bet. As we grow, depending on our environment, experiences, and maturity levels, our preferences, interests, and values tend to shift. What might have been a simple or materialistic answer in childhood may transform into more complex, meaningful responses as we develop. Only by self-reflecting on these changes over time would we able to reveal how our priorities evolve and gain a deeper understanding of what truly matters to us.
Introduction
I’m the kind of person who loves and enjoys reflecting on life, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors tied to various outcomes, as well as the world around me in general. However, I often find myself distracted by the routine of daily life, which makes it challenging to fully engage in these reflections. Nevertheless, I firmly believe — through personal experience — that introspection and “knowing thyself” are key to personal growth and resilience. This is why, from time to time, I feel a strong curiosity to explore the workings of the mind, emotions, and the broader scope of mental health.
